Slugging It Out

That's what I was doing today, slugging it out. It's amazing. Yesterday I felt like I was gliding on air. Today I felt like I was lugging every single one of my 278 lbs. Actually, I've probably lost a few pounds since the beginning of the week. I need a new set of scales. Today was a tough one but I did it. I walked up and jogged back the entire mile. It was more like a 14 or 15 minute mile today. The important thing is I did it. I'll ride the bike later today or tomorrow afternoon and I'll be back on the pavement on Monday. I am committed to this program. I'll eat sensibly today and tomorrow as well. Overall I'm feeling really great. I did bonk in the middle of the second show yesterday but all I had eaten all day was some egg beaters which couldn't have been more than 200 calories. That's instead of my usual 2,000 by that time of day. Waddle on!

On The Road Again

Before I forget it, here's my quote of the day. It's from Richard Simmons: "A good plan leads to a small can." Well, here I am again. Completely out of shape and 278 lbs. Actually, I have an excuse this time. The blood pressure medication I was on for over 2 years was Tenormin, a beta blocker, and it completely sapped all my energy. I had a physical this past Monday, and the doctor took me off the Tenormin and put me on Lotrel. What an amazing difference. I feel like I'm 35 again instead of 56, or 96 like I was feeling like. I just got back from a jog and I ran a 12 minute mile. For me that's olympic speed. So I shouldn't say I'm not in shape. My endurance is still there once the medication got out of my system. I've been eating mostly salads and lean protein since Monday. My resolve is to eat right and exercise as often as I can. I already feel better and I know if I keep it up I'll look better as well. Awesome!
