Carpe Diem
It's a beautiful day here in Northern Baltimore County. It should get up in the high 50's. So I seized the moment and went for a 4 mile walk/jog. I only jogged a little more than a mile. I could feel my right knee talking to me so I didn't want to push it. At 270 and out of practice, I didn't want to risk injury. I did, however, want to take advantage of this beautiful day. I got a boost from watching Oprah yesterday. She's a bit beefier than she was a few months ago. She said she blew it over the holidays by eating bread. I've had so much bread and sweets over the past few months that it's a wonder I don't weigh over 300 lbs.
Back on the program. I had my first real test this morning. After my 4 mile adventure I walked into the house to find the kids fixing pancakes. Boz asked me to fix him some and I did, without eating any myself. Then Homer and JJ came back with doughnuts and I resisted them as well. JJ and I are going to Moe's later and I'll get a salad. I have done this before and I can do it again. Off with the pounds!
